from the last post i had my work glazed with a quite opaque blue. some of the areas like the lip of the bows i wipes of the glaze to give a clear edge. i used this glaze as i wouldnt give a uniform finish overall. it would condence in small crevisays. i did this work to capture the fluid like state of the clay when being spun on the wheel. i feel it captures it perfectly.

from working in the ceramic room on the wheels i was drawn to experiment on my late evenings. there are just to bits of work. in the first we see my reprisentation of the top of the vortex.
it highlights the turning almost wave motion within it.

the second and third image is a pise i did of the folding clag. i found when makeing hollow cones that if there was to much clay that it would tend to fold. i found the folds quite interesting as they all are slightly different but still follow a uniform rotashonal motion.
 football pitch and ally way

I just thought these images were cool. grove in the cold fog. these pictures dont show sadly the eary pressence the fog has in the ally way.

working with the broken fragments of my ceramic work iv also been looking at fragment art.
taking somethingthats in peases and putting it back together. over chrismas il be travoling home to my family.
we live by a forest so by using my natural resorses i will be atempting to construct my stialised tree vortex. apologes for the image on the side. i couldnt figre out how to change it.
the blog below is showing work in prosses.
it has to be glazzed at the moment so when its done im sure il put it straight up!

this is the first time iv put up some of my working drawings. over the past blog you saw i had made larve ceramic work resemboling water vortexes. sadly they all broke in the killen. through this i worked the what i had and discoverd a way to use it. by makeing there buiscuits to go inbetween the work it exposes and exsenshuates the crack . by dooing this i am trying to highlight the fragments in time of the static tight.

from working with the cone i got the verdict that the cone was to simple of a shape and didnt visualy show movement. from studying come shapes i discoverd the vortex of water when u put the plug on a sink has great movement qualities and a cone cinda shape! RESULT . from workin in my sketchbook i disided to creake a sires of there that could be held from the sealing or pushing out from the walls.

once fired and glazed il put up a few images of them exsibited!
wax cones!

makeing a cone grow!i wanted to show the consept that you can make something look like its not growing but i actualy is. these photos were taken from asiries over a 3 hour piriod.
 awsome textures.
here i was experimenting with makeing a sculpture with cling film and latex. i tried to captue the cone shape of a wortex of water.
here wee can see the patern of the cling fily. this is very interesting.
this happend when i startes to poor latex on to the inside of the clingfilm.
it really highlights the direction of flow very graphicly. sadyly it didnt have the same affect once dry. sdly the layer of latex was to thin makeing it very transparent.
i took the bare shape of the static tight and brought it into situations it would never be found.
i tried in this image to make it look like the cone has grown from the ground. i used the tree in the backgroud to conpliment the idea of growth!

I really wanted to have them glowin almost alien like.
i had the idea while visiting dublin to create smaller spires to symolise regrowth within the country. happy art work. there are to many depressing sculptures in citys so by creating something symboling good it will show were not all doom and gloom.

finished paper static tight!

I put the statue behing it to show the contrast of real stone.

my fake rock static tights. i put it on its side to put it out of its comfort area.
thus creating i different dimention.

visiting limerick senior

my old collage has been so kind as to want to put my pensil portrait up on there walls. they must think its good or sumink. il put up a picture of the real thing when i can . in this image u cant se any of the fine details that make it.

3 dimentions

i created this by cuting paper in a wavey pater and making it stand in a spiral. as this was just experementive work i explored its good and bad aspects and tried to create something better. i really liked the clusters of tower like things so i tried to recreate it in a different way.
here we are my cones. wight card and duck tape. simple

then over a long long space of time it was paper mashaid.
the final pictures will be added once it has been finished.

exabishon!

open day at lsad and im asked to exsibit my work. many thanks to the tutors.

got tired of paper for the day!

these are images i took in my spare time. i found them interesting for there angles and textures.
i thought this was realy interesting to captur the fleeting water. i like the shapes to.

exploding toilet!

Now i figured i was able to create the dripping in a 2d way so i disided to take it in to a third dimention.
I did this with a combination of wire and postage paper.

dead aran!
